What this makes

Upload a picture or an SVG and get a print-ready cutter: a sharp cutting edge that follows your outline, a wider reinforcing rib above it so the walls do not flex, and a flat top you can press on with your palm. It works for cookie dough, fondant, polymer clay, soap and play dough.

The outline comes from your image, so anything with a clear silhouette works: a logo, a pet's profile, a name written in a heavy font, a child's drawing.

How to make a custom cutter

  1. Upload a PNG, JPG or SVG. An SVG uses its real vector paths, so it stays perfectly crisp at any size.
  2. Check the traced outline in the preview. Two thumbnails show the black-and-white mask and the traced path, so you can see what the tracer actually saw.
  3. Adjust the threshold if the trace missed something, then set the cutter size in millimetres.
  4. Pick a frame shape if you want a handle or a backing rim.
  5. Download the STL or 3MF and print it.

If your line drawing shatters into lots of tiny cutters, the strokes are too thin for the trace resolution. Thicken the lines in any image editor, or upload it larger, and re-trace.

Using it with food

A printed cutter touches food briefly and then gets washed, which is a much lower risk than a mold that food sets inside. Even so, printed plastic has layer lines that trap residue. Hand wash in warm water, do not put it in the dishwasher unless it is PETG, and treat a cutter as a tool with a finite life rather than a permanent kitchen item. Common problems

The cutter does not cut cleanly through the dough

Usually the edge is too blunt or the dough is too soft. Chill the dough first, and press straight down without twisting. A sharper edge cuts better but chips more easily, so there is a genuine trade-off.

The dough sticks inside the cutter

Dip the cutter in flour between cuts. If it still sticks, the walls are catching on layer lines, so sand the inside face lightly or print at a finer layer height.

Thin parts of my design snapped off

Anything narrower than about 1 mm at print scale is fragile. Scale the whole cutter up, thicken the shape in your source image, or accept losing the finest detail. A cutter cannot hold detail a nozzle cannot draw.

My design has an enclosed hole and it filled in

Expected. A cutter is an outline, so an enclosed island (the middle of a letter O, an eye) has nothing holding it in place. Use a stamp instead if you need interior detail, or accept the silhouette.
