The one rule that never changes
You can never resell or redistribute the digital files themselves — STL, 3MF, or any other Meshcast-generated file — on any plan, at any time. That includes uploading them, free or paid, to Printables, MakerWorld, Thingiverse, Etsy, Cults3D, or anywhere else. Every plan only ever grants you a right to manufacture — print or cast — with the file, not to pass the file itself along.
What changes between plans is whether you're allowed to sell the physical thing you made from the file — a print, a cast part, a finished product.
Free plan: personal use only
Free downloads are for you — gifts, your own home, a one-off print for a friend. Selling anything made from a free-tier file isn't permitted, whether it's the raw print or something you built around it. Every free STL carries a small "Meshcast" engraving as a result.
Pro plan: sell what you print
While your Pro subscription is active, you can sell physical prints and cast items made with Meshcast files — on Etsy, at a market, wherever. No watermark, no daily download cap. If you cancel, your commercial license ends for anything you generate after that point — but items you already sold while subscribed stay perfectly legal; there's no retroactive clawback.
Founder plan: the same rights, permanently
Founder is a one-time payment for the same commercial rights as Pro, for the lifetime of the service, tied to your account. It's personal and non-transferable — you can't sell or hand off a Founder seat to someone else. The current tranche is 10 seats at $249; once they're gone, Founder access closes until the next round opens.
How we verify it
Every downloaded STL carries a small license signature embedded in its 80-byte header (account, plan, date) — proof of which license applied at download time. We may ask for clarification if there's a good-faith reason to think commercial work is happening without the matching license.
