Image to SVG converter

Turn a PNG or JPG logo, drawing or silhouette into a clean one-colour SVG for Cricut, laser cutting, vinyl or 3D printing. Free, no card, no watermark, and your image is never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Add your image. Drop a PNG, JPG or WebP on the box above, choose one, or paste a screenshot. A logo with a transparent background works best.
  2. Check the preview. The SVG appears next to your image. If parts are missing or filled in, move the threshold slider; if the background became the shape, tick Invert.
  3. Download the SVG. You get one filled path in one colour, cropped to your design, ready for Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, Inkscape, a laser cutter or a 3D tool.

What makes a good SVG

The converter traces the outline of every shape in your image and smooths the pixel staircase into clean curves, while keeping real corners sharp. It is the same tracer Meshcast's logo tools use to turn a picture into a 3D print, so it is tuned for outlines a blade, a laser or a nozzle can follow.

Questions

Is this image to SVG converter free?

Yes. There is no card, no watermark and no limit on how many images you convert. The image is traced in your browser and is not uploaded anywhere.

Will the SVG work in Cricut Design Space or Silhouette Studio?

Yes. The file is a single filled path in one colour, cropped tight to your design, with the holes in letters and shapes kept as holes. Upload it as a cut image and resize it to the size you want to cut.

Can I convert a colour photo to SVG?

You can, but the result is a one-colour silhouette, like a stencil. The converter works best on logos, line art, text and clear silhouettes. For a photo, raise the contrast first and use the threshold slider to choose which parts become the shape.

Why did my design come out as a solid block?

Your design is probably light on a dark background, so the background was traced as the shape. Tick Invert. If the edges are still wrong, move the threshold slider until the preview on the right matches your design.

How big will the SVG be?

It keeps the size your design had in the image, in pixels, cropped to the design itself. Every cutting and design program lets you scale an SVG to any size without losing sharpness, so set the final size there.

Can I turn the SVG into a 3D print?

Yes, that is what Meshcast is for. The cookie cutter, stamp, keychain and embosser tools each take an SVG and build a print-ready STL from it in your browser, and the soap designer puts it on a bar you can make a mold from.
