A desk and shelf stand for darts that looks like a small dartboard, with JOHN'S DARTS raised in white round its black case, a black and white sectored face on top, a green ring and a red bullseye. Made with our free dart holder maker, not modelled by hand: we typed JOHN'S DARTS into its text box, kept the Bold & Blocky font and the page's other defaults, and pressed Download. Make your own the same way with any name up to 14 characters: the tool wraps it round the case and scales it to fit the 20 mm rim. The zip holds exactly what it gives you: the four parts as separate STLs, and a 3MF with every part as its own coloured object, already nested, for a multi-material printer.

Assembled it is 101 mm across and 20 mm tall. The face drops into the top of the case, the green ring into the face and the red bullseye into the ring, and the holes line up by themselves. On a single-colour printer the face still comes out in two colours: print it in white and change to black at 3.4 mm, where the black wedges, the rim and the dividing lines begin.

  • About 82 g of PLA or PETG: mostly black for the case and the face, plus a little white, green and red
  • Steel-tip darts to stand in it (soft-tip points are too wide for the holes)
  • A drop of glue, if the face sits loose in the case

How to make it

  1. Print the case, the face, the green ring and the red bullseye as exported, flat side down, no supports.

  2. For a two-colour face on one extruder, start it in white and change to black at 3.4 mm.

  3. Press the face into the top of the case, turning it until its holes sit over the holes in the case.

  4. Press the green ring into the middle of the face and the red bullseye into the ring.

  5. Stand your darts point down in the holes: one in each of the 20 wedges, three in the bullseye.

How do I change the name on the JOHN'S DARTS holder?

Does the apostrophe on the JOHN'S DARTS holder print cleanly?

Yes. It is raised 1.5 mm like the letters and about as wide as a letter stroke, so a 0.4 mm nozzle prints it without supports. On the 3MF it is part of the white name object, so it changes colour with the letters.
