A cartoon head with a shocked face, hollowed out as a planter. Whatever you plant becomes its wild hair.
Want your own version? Make it free in our head generator tool. A free account gives you free downloads every week.
A cartoon head frozen in pure shock, hollowed out as a planter with a drain hole, and a terracotta drip saucer to stand it on. Put a succulent or a spiky plant in the top and it looks like the head just saw its own hair grow.
Made with our head generator, not sculpted by hand: the shocked example head as a planter you fill with soil, with a drain hole and a matching drip saucer. The head is one of the generator's own example heads, a cartoon made by its AI from a photo, and the planter around it is built by the page itself. The zip holds exactly what the page exports: a 3MF painted in 2 colours for a multi-colour printer, and a one-colour STL for any slicer. It comes out 181 by 70 by 86 mm as laid out for printing. Like every free download from the tool, it carries a small MESHCAST mark.
Make your own: upload a photo of a friend, your dog or yourself to the head generator and turn it into the same thing with their face.
Shown as a 3D render of the printed object, not a photo.
Print the 3MF on a multi-colour printer, or the STL in one colour as laid out, with tree (organic) supports where the slicer asks for them.
Remove the supports and clean up the underside.
Put a little gravel over the drain hole, fill with potting soil and plant.
Stand it on the saucer, or on a dish, and water little and often.

Yes. It is a planter bowl with a drain hole in the bottom, so you fill it with soil and plant straight into it, and the saucer catches the water. Print it in PETG and seal the inside with a coat of varnish if it will stand on wood.
About 2 h 10 min and 65 g of filament at 0.2 mm layers, estimated from the file for a current printer (Bambu, Prusa MK4 class) rather than sliced. The painted 3MF adds the colour changes your printer makes on top of that.
Yes, that is what the head generator is for: upload a photo of a face (yours, a friend's or a pet's), it turns it into a 3D cartoon head, and you pick the planter to get the same object with that face.
