What makes an Etsy listing get found
Etsy matches a search against your title and your tags, then ranks what matches. So the title has one job: say plainly what the item is, in the words a buyer types. "Bee candle" first, then what it is made of, the look, and who it is for. The generator builds it in that order and drops the last phrases when it would run past 140 characters, rather than stuffing in every keyword.
Tags carry the rest. You get 13 and each can be 20 characters, so the drafts use phrases (bee lover gift, soy wax candle, gift for her) instead of single words like "candle", which compete with every listing on the site. Each tag shows its length, and none repeats.
A description buyers actually read
The opening line is what shows in search previews and on Google, so it says what the piece is, its colour and what it is made of. Below it come the details a buyer checks before buying (size, material, quantity), how it is made, and how to care for it. For soap and bath bombs it leaves a line for the ingredient list cosmetics rules require, and for candles and wax melts one for the scent safety information, because only you know what is in yours.

Etsy recommends a short, readable title that says what the item is first, so the generator leads with the subject and the item and drops the least important phrases rather than cramming. The characters %, : and & may each appear only once, and no more than three words can be in capitals.
