Gummy bear tray mold

Thirty gummy bears per pour, snout, eyes and belly included.

3D render of the printed caster for a thirty-bear silicone gummy tray, with a row of red gummy bears in front
Chocolate Pro early access

A tray of thirty classic gummy bears, 27 mm tall and 8 mm deep, each with a little snout, two eyes and a round belly on the face, the way a shop-bought gummy looks.

Made with our tray mold generator in its flexible silicone tray mode: print the caster, pour a food-safe platinum silicone into it and peel out a flexible thirty-bear tray. The bears are small and pillowy, the kind of shape only a flexible tray releases in one piece.

The zip carries the printed caster exactly as the tool exported it, one bear on its own as an STL, the master uploaded to the tool, and a print and pour sheet with the silicone figure the tool measured.

Shown as a 3D render of the printed caster with a row of red bears in front, not a photo.

What you need

  • About 297 ml of food-safe platinum silicone (mix it in one batch)
  • Gelatine, juice and sugar, or melted chocolate, about 2 ml per bear
  • A dropper or squeeze bottle to fill the small cavities

How to cast it

  1. Print the caster as exported, open side up. It is one part, so there are no seams to seal. No supports.
  2. Set it on a level surface. Mix 297 ml of silicone in one batch and pour it into one corner in a thin stream, letting it flow round the raised shapes until it is level with the rim.
  3. Tap the caster on the table for a minute to bring the bubbles up, then let the silicone cure for as long as its datasheet says.
  4. Peel the cured silicone out of the caster. That silicone is your tray, and the caster is ready for another one.
  5. Fill each cavity, let it set, then flex the tray and peel it back to pop the pieces out.

Questions about this design

How do I fill thirty small gummy bear cavities without a mess?

Use a dropper or a squeeze bottle, not a jug. Fill every bear to the rim, then scrape the top of the tray flat with a spatula so the backs are level. Set the tray on a baking sheet first: a flexible tray full of liquid needs something rigid under it to reach the fridge.

Why do my homemade gummy bears stick to the tray?

Usually because they are not set yet. Gelatine gummies need two hours in the fridge, and they release far better if you leave them uncovered on the counter for another hour so the surface firms up. A very light wipe of neutral oil on the tray helps too.

Can I pour chocolate into the gummy bear tray?

Yes. Tempered chocolate gives shiny bears with the snout and belly showing, and at about 2 ml each a 100 g bar fills the whole tray. Tap the tray on the counter after filling so no air stays in the ears.
