"Mama" in a bold retro script, cut out around the word so the keychain is the word itself, white letters raised on a rose pink outline. It is one of the most gifted keychains there is: for a new mum, for Mother's Day, or as a baby shower favour. Good for Mother's Day, baby showers, a first birthday and push presents.

Made with our free keychain generator, not modelled by hand: we typed "Mama", chose the Letter outline shape and the Retro Script font, set the text size to 16 mm and the border to 3.5 mm, and picked the two colours. The zip holds exactly what the tool downloads: a 3MF with the tag and the raised letters as two coloured parts, and a one-piece STL. It comes out 56 by 20 mm and 4 mm thick, and prints flat with no supports.

Print a batch in different pinks for a baby shower: every guest who is a mum takes one home. Printed in one colour it still reads, because the letters stand proud of the tag; for rose pink and white, a single-nozzle printer needs one filament change, and the print sheet in the zip says where.

  • About 3 g of PLA or PETG, in rose pink and white
  • A split ring or keyring, about 25 mm across

How to make it

  1. Print it flat as exported: no supports, 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layers.

  2. Multi-colour printer: open the 3MF, each part already carries its colour. Single nozzle: add a filament change in the slicer's layer preview for white at 3.3 mm above the bed.

  3. Let the bed cool before you lift the tag off, so the thin edges stay flat.

  4. Open the split ring with a thumbnail or a small screwdriver and wind it through the hole.

Questions about this design

Is the Mama keychain a good baby shower favour?

Yes. It prints in well under an hour on most printers and needs only a few grams, so a plate of them is an evening's work. Print them in the shower's colours and put one at every place setting.

Can I make a matching Dada keychain to the Mama keychain?

Yes. Open the free keychain tool with the same settings (Letter outline, Retro Script) and type Dada, Papa or Mum. The outline and the keyring hole follow the new word, and you can pick a second colour for the pair.

Where do I change filament to print the Mama keychain in 2 colours?

Start in rose pink, then change to white at 3.3 mm above the bed. Those heights are measured in the file, from its lowest point, which is where your slicer puts the bed; add each change in the layer preview where the new colour first shows. With a multi-colour printer, skip all that and open the 3MF.
