A flat five point star that says Merry Christmas, in red, white and gold, with a loop for the ribbon.
Want your own version? Make it free in our christmas ornament tool. A free account gives you free downloads every week.
A star for the tree that prints flat in one piece: a red star with a raised gold trim round the edge, a scatter of raised gold dots like falling snow, and "Merry Christmas" across the middle in white script. The loop at the top point takes a ribbon or an ornament hook, and the star is 80 mm across, big enough to read from across the room.
Made with our free Christmas ornament generator, not modelled by hand: we picked the star shape, "Merry" and "Christmas" on two lines in the Retro Script font, and the Snow dots pattern. Everything else is the tool's default. The zip holds exactly what the tool exports: a 3MF with every part in its own colour, and the same print as one STL. Like every free download from the tool, it carries a small MESHCAST mark where it does not show.
Print it flat, face up, with no supports, thread a ribbon through the loop and it is on the tree the same evening. Print one for everyone at the table, or open the tool and change the words first.
Shown as a 3D render of the printed ornament, lying flat as it comes off the bed, not a photo.

Print it flat, face up, as exported. No supports.
For two colours on one nozzle, change filament at the height in the README: the letters and the trim start there.
Pull off any stringing round the letters with tweezers.
Thread a ribbon, twine or an ornament hook through the loop at the top.

Yes. Everything raised (the white letters, the gold trim and the dots) starts at the same height, so one filament change at that layer gives you a red star with white details. Print it in one colour and the letters still read, because they stand a millimetre proud of the face.
About 30 min and 11 g of PLA at 0.2 mm layers, estimated from the files rather than sliced, so a current printer is often faster. It prints flat in one piece with no supports, so it suits a first print on any printer.
It is 80 by 84 mm and 3.4 mm thick. To change that, open the free Christmas ornament generator from this page and move the size slider; the rest of the design follows, and you download the new file in a minute.
