A gingerbread house that never goes stale: flat panels with the icing printed on, glued together in an afternoon.

A gingerbread house as a printed kit: a front and a back with a heart in the gable, two side walls, two roof halves under piped snow and a four piece chimney, all flat panels in gingerbread brown with the white icing printed on top. Zigzag trim runs up the gables, little hearts sit under the cut out windows, and red sweets line the ridge and the door. Built, it is 79 by 64 mm and 101 mm tall.
Made with our free Christmas house generator, not modelled by hand: we picked the Gingerbread kit and the Cottage shape. Everything else is the tool's default. The zip holds exactly what the tool exports: a 3MF with every panel on one plate in its colours, and each of the 10 panels as its own STL. Like every free download from the tool, it carries a small MESHCAST mark where it does not show.
Glue it together with the kids on an Advent afternoon, set an LED tealight inside so the windows glow, and it comes out of the box again every December, unlike the one you bake.
Shown as a 3D render of the printed house, glued together from its panels, not a photo.

Print the panels flat, icing up, as exported. On one nozzle, change filament at the height in the README for white icing.
Glue the two side walls between the front and the back, square on the table.
Glue the two roof halves on so they meet along the ridge.
Glue the four chimney pieces into a box and set it on the roof.
Put an LED tealight inside, never a real candle.

Every panel is a 2.4 mm slab of gingerbread with the icing 0.8 mm on top, so the colour change is one height for the whole plate. Add a filament change at 2.4 mm in your slicer (the README in the zip says it too) and the icing comes out white on brown. The 3MF already has the colours for a multicolour printer.
About 3 h 35 min and 76 g of PLA at 0.2 mm layers, estimated from the files rather than sliced, so a current printer is often faster. All ten panels fit on one 256 mm bed together; on a smaller printer, put the panel STLs on two plates.
Glued together it stands 79 by 64 mm and 101 mm tall. To change that, open the free Christmas house generator from this page and move the size sliders; the rest of the design follows, and you download the new file in a minute.
