Zodiac wax seals 1 to 6

The first six star signs, Aries to Virgo, as zodiac wax seal stamps: one screw-on handle and a 28 mm plate per sign.

Sealing wax ~22 g

Six zodiac seals, each with the astrological glyph of its sign drawn large and raised inside a fine ring on its own 28 mm plate: Aries (Mar 21 to Apr 19), Taurus (Apr 20 to May 20), Gemini (May 21 to Jun 20), Cancer (Jun 21 to Jul 22), Leo (Jul 23 to Aug 22) and Virgo (Aug 23 to Sep 22). Seal birthday cards with the sign of the person they are for, astrology and tarot journals, candle and crystal labels, or celestial wedding stationery.

Made with our free stamp maker, not modelled by hand: we drew each design in code, knocked out of a solid disc, uploaded the picture and set a 28 mm circle with the relief at 1 mm, enough for wax without trapping it. The page cut the design into the face, so it stands proud on the seal, and mirrored it, so it reads the right way round in the wax.

The tool makes every plate with the same screw thread ("one handle takes any number of screw-on faces"), so this zip holds six plates, one STL per design, and a single handle that fits them all and our other wax seal sets. The plates and the handle are the tool's own download for each design, split into one file per part; nothing else was changed. The pictures are in the zip too, to make a plate of your own.

Shown as a 3D render of some of the printed plates, the handle and a seal pressed into wax, not a photo.

Zodiac wax seals 1 to 6 at a glance: every printed part with its size, print time, filament, print settings and the three steps to use it

What you need

3
  • Sealing wax: glue-gun wax sticks with a mini glue gun, traditional wick sticks, or wax beads in a melting spoon
  • An ice pack or a cold metal plate, to chill the stamp between seals
  • About 22 g of filament for all six plates and the handle: PETG or PLA for the plates, PLA for the handle

How to use it

5
  1. Print the handle once, standing on its foot, and the plates you want face down on the bed, all as exported, no supports.

  2. Screw a plate onto the handle until it is snug.

  3. Chill the face on an ice pack for a minute.

  4. Pour a puddle of wax a little wider than the seal, wait about ten seconds, then press the stamp straight down and hold it still for 10 to 20 seconds.

  5. Lift straight up once the wax has set, and chill the stamp again before the next seal.

Questions about this design

Which plate of Zodiac wax seals 1 to 6 is my sign?

Aries runs Mar 21 to Apr 19, Taurus Apr 20 to May 20, Gemini May 21 to Jun 20, Cancer Jun 21 to Jul 22, Leo Jul 23 to Aug 22 and Virgo Aug 23 to Sep 22. Born later in the year? Your sign is in Zodiac wax seals 7 to 12.

Why do Zodiac wax seals 1 to 6 show a symbol and not the sign name?

A name in letters small enough to fit on a 28 mm seal would blur in wax. The glyph of each sign, drawn large, stays crisp and is the mark astrology fans recognise at a glance, so the seal reads clearly from across a table.

How long do the plates of the Zodiac wax seals 1 to 6 take to print?

About 15 minutes a plate and about 25 minutes for the handle at 0.2 mm layers and MK3-class speeds, the basis of every stamp in the catalog; all six plates and the handle come to about 2 h. A current printer is faster. The times are estimated from the parts' volume, not sliced.
