Can't confirm your account, or find your download?
Three problems that have nothing to do with 3D. Click the link in the confirmation email, do not type a code. If you are on Yahoo or Outlook and the link never works, that is your mail provider, not your account, and the fix is below. And a download that vanished is almost always sitting in your Downloads folder.
Can't confirm your account
Cause 1: typing a code that isn't there
The confirmation email contains a link you click, not a six-digit code you type in. People expect a code because so many services use one, look for numbers in the email, and get stuck.
Open the email and click the button or the link. That is the whole step.
Cause 2: Yahoo and Outlook open the link before you do
The symptom is distinctive: the email arrives, the link looks fine, clicking it appears to do nothing, and requesting a new one produces exactly the same loop.
| What to do | Why it works |
|---|---|
| Use “email me a link” sign-in instead of a password account | Sign-in links are requested by you, so you click within seconds and win the race against the scanner |
| Open the email on your phone's mail app | The scan happens on the provider's server, but a fresh link clicked immediately often still works |
| Use a different address (Gmail, Fastmail, a work address) | Most providers do not pre-open links |
| Email support | Accounts stuck in this loop get confirmed by hand. It takes a minute and you keep your address |
How to tell this apart from an email that simply never arrived
If nothing landed at all, check spam, then check that the address has no typo, then request another. That is an ordinary delivery problem.
The pre-open problem looks different: the email arrives fine. It is only the link that is dead. If you can see the message and clicking it still returns you to the confirm screen, you are in this case, and requesting a fourth email will not help.
Your plan or credits look wrong
- FirstHard-refresh the page. Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows and Linux, Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac. This clears the cached account state, which is what is usually wrong.
- ThenSign out and back in. That re-reads your plan from the server rather than from the browser.
- If it is still wrongEmail support with the address on your Stripe receipt. That receipt email is the key: it is what the purchase is filed under, and if it differs from the address you signed in with, the two need linking by hand.
The same applies to bonus downloads that stop appearing: they live on your account, not in your browser, so a stale session hides them. Refresh, then sign out and in, then ask.
Where did my download go?
| System | Where it lands |
|---|---|
| Windows | C:\Users\<you>\Downloads |
| macOS | /Users/<you>/Downloads, also in the Dock's Downloads stack |
| Linux | ~/Downloads |
| iPhone / iPad | Files app → On My iPhone → Downloads |
| Android | Files app → Downloads |
The fastest way to find it is your browser's own download history, which lists every file with a “show in folder” button next to it:
- Windows / Linux: Ctrl + J
- macOS: Cmd + Shift + J in Chrome, Cmd + Alt + L in Safari
The file is there but the slicer will not open it
Check the extension first. A mold download is an .stl, a .3mf or a .zip. A zip has to be extracted before a slicer will look at it, and on Windows “opening” a zip in Explorer only previews it, it does not extract it. Right-click, Extract All, then import.
If the file opens but the geometry looks wrong, that is a different problem: see casting troubleshooting.
Reporting something else
Most reports that go unfixed are not hard problems, they are reports nobody can reproduce. Four things turn “it did not work” into a fix:
Send these four
- Which tool, by URL. There are twenty of them and they share almost no code
- The file you uploaded. Nearly every unreproducible bug turns out to live in the file
- Your exact settings, including anything you changed from the default
- A screenshot of what went wrong, not of the settings panel
What this saves
- A round trip that otherwise takes days across time zones
- Guesswork about which of twenty tools you meant
- Us reproducing on a different model and concluding, wrongly, that it works
If the problem is a generation that fails or comes out wrong, why was my model rejected lists the settings worth including for each tool, and solves most cases before you need to write anything.
