◆ Resin
A coffin trinket dish for resin, Jesmonite or concrete. Two per pour, from a silicone tray you make yourself.
A coffin-shaped trinket dish 65 x 120 mm and 15 mm tall: the classic six-sided coffin outline with a 6 mm lip, every corner rounded 3 mm so no point chips off, and a 9 mm deep well for rings, earrings, crystals or a few tealights.
Made with our tray mold generator in its flexible silicone tray mode: print the caster, pour silicone into it and peel out a flexible tray that casts two coffins at a time. Each is cast upside down, so the lip and the well form against the silicone and the poured side becomes the flat bottom.
A goth favourite for resin makers and a Halloween one for everybody else: pour it in black with silver mica, in purple and black swirls, or clear with dried flowers. The zip carries the printed caster exactly as the tool exported it, one dish on its own as an STL, the master uploaded to the tool, and a print and pour sheet with the silicone figure the tool measured.
Shown as a 3D render of the printed caster with three black resin dishes in front, not a photo.

Print the caster as exported, open side up, no supports. For a glassy resin dish, sand the raised dish shapes smooth or brush on a thin coat of XTC-3D first: the silicone copies every layer line, and resin shows each one.
Mix 294 ml of silicone in one batch and pour it into one corner of the caster in a thin stream, letting it rise over the dish shapes until it is level with the rim. Tap the caster on the table for a minute and let it cure for as long as its datasheet says.
Peel the cured silicone out of the caster. That silicone is your tray: the dome in the middle of each cavity is what forms the well of the dish.
Mix casting resin and pour each cavity slowly to the brim, about 60 ml each. Pass a heat gun or torch over the top to pop the bubbles, cover it against dust and let it cure fully, usually 24 to 72 hours.
Flex the tray and peel it back from the dish rather than pulling the dish out. The poured side is the bottom: sand it flat or add felt pads.

Split the mixed resin into two cups and tint one black and the other with silver or pearl mica. Pour the black into the cavity, drizzle the silver across it and drag a toothpick through once. What you pour first lands on the top of the dish, so that is the pattern you will see.
It came out too early. Resin stays soft for a while after it feels hard, and a thin lip bends as you flex the tray. Give it the full cure time on the datasheet, then flex the silicone away from the dish instead of pulling the dish out of it.
Not in resin: hot ash softens and scorches it. Cast the coffin in Jesmonite or concrete instead and it takes incense cones and tealights happily; seal it once it is dry so the ash wipes off.
