Five friendly dinosaurs for a dino party: a T-rex with its tiny arms, a stegosaurus with plates along its back, a triceratops with its frill and horns, a long-necked sauropod and a three-toed footprint. Every cutter has a stamp that presses the eye, the spots and the toes into the cookie, and every leg and tail is chunky enough to survive being picked up by a small child. Good for dinosaur birthday parties, kids' party bags, museum days, baby showers and school bake sales.

All five were made with our free cookie cutter generator, not modelled by hand: we drew each shape with its stamp's lines inside it and uploaded it with Generate stamp switched on. The zip holds exactly what the tool gives you, one STL per shape with the cutter (a 0.8 mm blade, 14 mm tall, with a 4 mm rim to press on) and its stamp side by side, plus each drawing as an SVG. The cookies come out 90 x 84 mm (T-rex), 90 x 64 mm (stegosaurus), 90 x 63 mm (triceratops), 90 x 87 mm (long neck) and 79 x 85 mm (dinosaur footprint).

Press the footprint cutter's stamp into the frosting on a sheet cake, again and again, to walk a trail of tracks across it: the stamp works on its own as well as inside its cutter.

The cutters and stamps print flat with no supports, in PLA or PETG. A cutter touches dough for a minute, but a 3D print has fine layer grooves where crumbs can sit: pick a food-contact filament if you can, wash each part by hand in warm soapy water before and after use, never in a dishwasher, and flour the blade and stamp before every press.

What you need

  • Rolled cookie dough that holds its shape: sugar cookie, shortbread or gingerbread, with little or no baking powder
  • A rolling pin, and two 5 to 6 mm guides for an even thickness
  • Flour or cornflour for dusting the cutters and the stamps, and baking paper
  • About 93 g of PLA or PETG for the whole set, ideally a food-contact filament

How to use it

  1. Print each file as exported: the cutter rim flat on the bed with the blade pointing up, and its stamp beside it, no supports.

  2. Wash every part in warm soapy water before the first use.

  3. Roll the chilled dough 5 to 6 mm thick between two sheets of baking paper.

  4. Dip a cutter's blade in flour, press straight down with your palm on the rim, and lift.

  5. Dust its stamp, press it into each cookie that cutter cut, about 2 mm deep, and lift it straight up.

  6. Chill the stamped cookies for ten minutes, then bake.

  7. Wash the parts by hand straight after use and let them dry. PLA softens in a dishwasher.

Which dinosaurs are in the dinosaur cookie cutter set?

A T-rex, a stegosaurus, a triceratops and a long-necked sauropod, plus a three-toed dinosaur footprint. Each has a stamp that presses in the eye, the spots and, on the footprint, the toe lines, so the cookies look finished without icing.

Will the legs and tails from the dinosaur cookie cutter set break off?

They were drawn chunky for that reason: every leg, tail and horn is several millimetres wide on the cookie. Roll the dough 6 mm thick, lift the cookies with a spatula under the whole body and let them cool on the tray first.

How do I colour the dinosaur cookie cutter set cookies with kids?

Give them a plain baked dinosaur, a few bowls of runny glaze and clean paintbrushes. The pressed spots and eyes hold the colour, and a quick dip of the whole cookie in green or orange glaze is enough for small hands.

Can I make the cutters in the dinosaur cookie cutter set bigger or smaller?
