Every cutter here is a single part that prints rim down, with no supports, in well under an hour on an ordinary FDM printer. The blade is 0.8 mm thick and 14 mm tall, thin enough to cut cleanly through rolled sugar cookie or gingerbread dough and tall enough for a 6 mm cookie with room to spare. The rim on top spreads the pressure of your palm so the blade goes straight down instead of rocking.
Each download is a zip with the STL, a print and food-contact sheet, and the silhouette as an SVG. That last file is the useful one: upload it to the free cookie cutter maker and you can make the same shape bigger, smaller, taller, or add a matching stamp for the icing.
For food use, print in PLA or PETG from a food-contact filament, wash the cutter by hand before the first use and after every use, and keep it out of the dishwasher: PLA softens and warps above about 55 °C.
Questions
For the few seconds a cutter touches dough, a cutter printed in PLA or PETG from a food-contact filament is what most bakers use. The layer lines are the weak point, because dough can sit in them, so wash the cutter by hand in warm soapy water straight after use and let it dry. Do not put PLA in a dishwasher, it softens and warps.
PLA is the easiest and holds a sharp, straight blade. PETG is tougher and survives warm water better, at the cost of slightly softer detail. Either works; pick a filament sold as food-contact if you can, and avoid wood-fill or glow-in-the-dark blends.
About 0.8 mm, which is two perimeters on a 0.4 mm nozzle. Thinner blades cut more cleanly but can snap on stiff dough; thicker ones squash the edge of the cookie. All the cutters here use 0.8 mm, and the cookie cutter maker lets you change it.
