Safari animal cookie cutter set with stamps

Six safari cookie cutters with stamps: elephant, giraffe, lion, hippo, monkey and palm tree.

3D render of six 3D-printed safari animal cookie cutters with their stamps and a golden stamped cookie in front of each: elephant, giraffe, lion, hippo, monkey and palm tree
Cookie dough ~128 g

Six shapes for a jungle or safari party: an elephant with a curled trunk and a big ear, a giraffe with its spots and ossicones, a lion's face in a full mane, a hippo peeking up from the water, a cheeky monkey face and a palm tree with coconuts. Every cutter has a stamp that presses the ear, the spots, the face or the bark into the cut cookie. Good for safari and jungle birthdays, baby showers, zoo trips, school animal weeks and party favour bags.

All six were made with our free cookie cutter generator, not modelled by hand: we drew each shape with its stamp's lines inside it and uploaded it with Generate stamp switched on. The zip holds exactly what the tool gives you, one STL per shape with the cutter (a 0.8 mm blade, 14 mm tall, with a 4 mm rim to press on) and its stamp side by side, plus each drawing as an SVG. The cookies come out 95 x 73 mm (elephant), 82 x 95 mm (giraffe), 90 x 90 mm (lion), 81 x 90 mm (hippo), 85 x 61 mm (monkey) and 88 x 90 mm (palm tree).

Kids can decorate these with no piping at all: brush the baked cookies with a little melted chocolate or coloured icing thinned with water, and the stamped spots, mane and face show through. A plain sugar cookie looks right for the lion and giraffe, a cocoa dough for the monkey and the elephant.

The cutters and stamps print flat with no supports, in PLA or PETG. A cutter touches dough for a minute, but a 3D print has fine layer grooves where crumbs can sit: pick a food-contact filament if you can, wash each part by hand in warm soapy water before and after use, never in a dishwasher, and flour the blade and stamp before every press.

Shown as a 3D render of the six printed cutters, their stamps and a stamped cookie from each, not a photo.

Safari animal cookie cutter set with stamps at a glance: every printed part with its size, print time, filament, print settings and the three steps to use it

What you need

4
  • Rolled cookie dough that holds its shape: sugar cookie, shortbread or gingerbread, with little or no baking powder
  • A rolling pin, and two 5 to 6 mm guides for an even thickness
  • Flour or cornflour for dusting the cutters and the stamps, and baking paper
  • About 128 g of PLA or PETG for the whole set, ideally a food-contact filament

How to use it

7
  1. Print each file as exported: the cutter rim flat on the bed with the blade pointing up, and its stamp beside it, no supports.

  2. Wash every part in warm soapy water before the first use.

  3. Roll the chilled dough 5 to 6 mm thick between two sheets of baking paper.

  4. Dip a cutter's blade in flour, press straight down with your palm on the rim, and lift.

  5. Dust its stamp, press it into each cookie that cutter cut, about 2 mm deep, and lift it straight up.

  6. Chill the stamped cookies for ten minutes, then bake.

  7. Wash the parts by hand straight after use and let them dry. PLA softens in a dishwasher.

Food contact: the cutter only touches dough briefly, but layer lines hold residue. Print it in a food-contact filament, wash it by hand in warm water, and keep it away from the dishwasher. Food-safe guide.

Questions about this design

Which animals are in the safari animal cookie cutter set?

Five animals and a tree, each with a stamp: an elephant, a giraffe, a lion, a hippo, a monkey and a palm tree. The stamps press in the elephant's ear and eye, the giraffe spots, the lion's face and mane, the hippo's eyes and nostrils, the monkey face and the palm bark and fronds.

Are the giraffe legs and neck in the safari animal cookie cutter set too thin?

No. The giraffe stands on two wide leg blocks rather than four sticks, and its neck is about 10 mm wide on the cookie, joined to the body along its whole width. Lift the cut giraffe with a spatula under the body, not by the head, and it bakes in one piece.

Can I use the safari animal cookie cutters for a baby shower?

Yes, a safari theme is one of the most popular baby shower themes. Ice them in soft greys, sage and sand, add the baby's name or initial in the lion's mane or on the elephant's body, and pack one of each in a clear bag as a favour.

Can I make the cutters in the safari animal cookie cutter set bigger or smaller?

Yes. Every drawing is in the zip as an SVG: upload one to the free cookie cutter generator, switch on Generate stamp and move the Cutter size slider (these are 85 to 95 mm). The stamp scales with its cutter, so its lines still fit the cookie.
