Six fairy tale shapes for a unicorn or princess party: a unicorn's head with a spiral horn and a curly mane, a castle with two turrets and an arched door, a crown with jewels, a star-tipped magic wand, a rainbow on two clouds and a ball gown. Every cutter has a stamp that presses the mane, the windows, the jewels or the stripes into the cut cookie. Good for unicorn and princess birthdays, fairy tale parties, baby showers, dress-up days and party favour bags.

All six were made with our free cookie cutter generator, not modelled by hand: we drew each shape with its stamp's lines inside it and uploaded it with Generate stamp switched on. The zip holds exactly what the tool gives you, one STL per shape with the cutter (a 0.8 mm blade, 14 mm tall, with a 4 mm rim to press on) and its stamp side by side, plus each drawing as an SVG. The cookies come out 80 x 95 mm (unicorn), 90 x 86 mm (castle), 85 x 66 mm (crown), 72 x 90 mm (magic wand), 90 x 63 mm (rainbow) and 88 x 90 mm (princess dress).

Pastel icing and edible glitter do most of the work: flood the unicorn white, fill the mane grooves in pink, lilac and teal, and brush the horn, crown and wand with gold lustre dust mixed with a drop of clear alcohol once the icing has set.

The cutters and stamps print flat with no supports, in PLA or PETG. A cutter touches dough for a minute, but a 3D print has fine layer grooves where crumbs can sit: pick a food-contact filament if you can, wash each part by hand in warm soapy water before and after use, never in a dishwasher, and flour the blade and stamp before every press.

Shown as a 3D render of the six printed cutters, their stamps and a stamped cookie from each, not a photo.

Unicorn and princess cookie cutter set with stamps at a glance: every printed part with its size, print time, filament, print settings and the three steps to use it

What you need

4
  • Rolled cookie dough that holds its shape: sugar cookie, shortbread or gingerbread, with little or no baking powder
  • A rolling pin, and two 5 to 6 mm guides for an even thickness
  • Flour or cornflour for dusting the cutters and the stamps, and baking paper
  • About 122 g of PLA or PETG for the whole set, ideally a food-contact filament

How to use it

7
  1. Print each file as exported: the cutter rim flat on the bed with the blade pointing up, and its stamp beside it, no supports.

  2. Wash every part in warm soapy water before the first use.

  3. Roll the chilled dough 5 to 6 mm thick between two sheets of baking paper.

  4. Dip a cutter's blade in flour, press straight down with your palm on the rim, and lift.

  5. Dust its stamp, press it into each cookie that cutter cut, about 2 mm deep, and lift it straight up.

  6. Chill the stamped cookies for ten minutes, then bake.

  7. Wash the parts by hand straight after use and let them dry. PLA softens in a dishwasher.

Questions about this design

Which shapes are in the unicorn and princess cookie cutter set?

Six, each with a stamp: a unicorn head, a castle, a crown, a magic wand, a rainbow on clouds and a princess dress. The stamps press in the unicorn's eye, horn and mane, the castle door and windows, the crown jewels, the wand star, the rainbow bands and the dress folds.

Is the unicorn horn on the unicorn and princess cookie cutter set too thin to bake?

No: the horn is drawn wide at its base and ends in a rounded tip about 7 mm across on the cookie, so it bakes through with the head and does not snap. Lift the cut cookie by the neck and mane with a spatula, not by the horn.

Can I make party favours with the unicorn and princess cookie cutter set?

Yes. Bake one of each shape per guest, let the icing dry overnight, and pack them in clear cellophane bags tied with ribbon. Iced cookies keep about a week in a sealed bag, so they can be made a few days before the party.

Can I make the cutters in the unicorn and princess cookie cutter set bigger or smaller?

Yes. Every drawing is in the zip as an SVG: upload one to the free cookie cutter generator, switch on Generate stamp and move the Cutter size slider (these are 85 to 95 mm). The stamp scales with its cutter, so its lines still fit the cookie.
