Sports ball cookie cutter set with stamps

Six sports ball cookie cutters with stamps: soccer ball, basketball, baseball, American football, tennis ball and volleyball.

3D render of six 3D-printed sports ball cookie cutters with their stamps and a golden stamped cookie in front of each: soccer ball, basketball, baseball, American football, tennis ball and volleyball
Cookie dough ~119 g

Six balls for the sports fan: a soccer ball with its pentagons, a basketball with its ribs, a baseball with stitched seams, an American football with laces, a tennis ball with its curved seam and a volleyball with its panels. Every cutter has a stamp that presses the ball's own lines into the cut cookie, so a plain round cookie becomes a ball the moment it is pressed. Good for sports birthdays, team parties, end of season celebrations, game day snacks and coach thank-you gifts.

All six were made with our free cookie cutter generator, not modelled by hand: we drew each shape with its stamp's lines inside it and uploaded it with Generate stamp switched on. The zip holds exactly what the tool gives you, one STL per shape with the cutter (a 0.8 mm blade, 14 mm tall, with a 4 mm rim to press on) and its stamp side by side, plus each drawing as an SVG. The cookies come out 80 x 80 mm (soccer ball), 80 x 80 mm (basketball), 80 x 80 mm (baseball), 95 x 54 mm (American football), 75 x 75 mm (tennis ball) and 80 x 80 mm (volleyball).

Ice in the team colours rather than the ball colours: flood each cookie in one team colour and fill the stamped seams with the other. A tray of balls in a club's colours makes an end of season party look planned with almost no piping.

The cutters and stamps print flat with no supports, in PLA or PETG. A cutter touches dough for a minute, but a 3D print has fine layer grooves where crumbs can sit: pick a food-contact filament if you can, wash each part by hand in warm soapy water before and after use, never in a dishwasher, and flour the blade and stamp before every press.

Shown as a 3D render of the six printed cutters, their stamps and a stamped cookie from each, not a photo.

Sports ball cookie cutter set with stamps at a glance: every printed part with its size, print time, filament, print settings and the three steps to use it

What you need

4
  • Rolled cookie dough that holds its shape: sugar cookie, shortbread or gingerbread, with little or no baking powder
  • A rolling pin, and two 5 to 6 mm guides for an even thickness
  • Flour or cornflour for dusting the cutters and the stamps, and baking paper
  • About 119 g of PLA or PETG for the whole set, ideally a food-contact filament

How to use it

7
  1. Print each file as exported: the cutter rim flat on the bed with the blade pointing up, and its stamp beside it, no supports.

  2. Wash every part in warm soapy water before the first use.

  3. Roll the chilled dough 5 to 6 mm thick between two sheets of baking paper.

  4. Dip a cutter's blade in flour, press straight down with your palm on the rim, and lift.

  5. Dust its stamp, press it into each cookie that cutter cut, about 2 mm deep, and lift it straight up.

  6. Chill the stamped cookies for ten minutes, then bake.

  7. Wash the parts by hand straight after use and let them dry. PLA softens in a dishwasher.

Food contact: the cutter only touches dough briefly, but layer lines hold residue. Print it in a food-contact filament, wash it by hand in warm water, and keep it away from the dishwasher. Food-safe guide.

Questions about this design

Which balls are in the sports ball cookie cutter set?

Six, each with a matching stamp: a soccer ball, a basketball, a baseball, an American football, a tennis ball and a volleyball. The stamps press in the pentagon pattern, the basketball ribs, the baseball seams with stitches, the football laces, the tennis seam and the volleyball panels.

Why do the round cutters in the sports ball cookie cutter set need stamps?

Because five of the six balls are the same circle, and only the lines make it a soccer ball rather than a basketball. The stamp presses those lines into the dough before baking, so every cookie is recognisable even with no icing at all.

Can the sports ball cookie cutter set cut fondant cake toppers?

Yes. Roll fondant 3 to 4 mm thick, cut, then press the stamp in gently and let the balls dry for a day before they go on a cake. Painted with food colouring in the stamped grooves, they look like small sports balls on top of a birthday cake.

Can I make the cutters in the sports ball cookie cutter set bigger or smaller?

Yes. Every drawing is in the zip as an SVG: upload one to the free cookie cutter generator, switch on Generate stamp and move the Cutter size slider (these are 75 to 95 mm). The stamp scales with its cutter, so its lines still fit the cookie.
