Made with the box mode of our silicone mold maker in its contoured shape: print the base with the soap master fused onto it face up, the two walls and the clamps, pour about 366 ml of silicone, and the block you get casts the bar face down, so the face comes out on the show face and the back stays flat.

A breakfast joke for a kitchen sink, a stocking filler or a market stall of food soaps that are not food. Pour it golden with a toasted honey or vanilla scent, and dab the cheeks pink first if you like. The zip carries every printed part, the soap master as its own STL, the tool's own print-settings sheet and a recipe file for the generator.

What you need

  • About 400 ml of silicone (mix it in one batch)
  • Melt-and-pour soap base, about 108 ml per bar
  • Golden brown and pink soap colour, a fragrance and rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle

How to cast it

  1. Print the base with the master fused onto it, the two walls and the two clamps.

  2. Stand the walls on the base, slide the clamps over the corners, and seal the outside seams with tape or hot glue.

  3. Mix 400 ml of silicone in one batch and pour it into a corner, letting it rise around the master until it covers the top.

  4. Once it has cured, take the clamps and walls off and pull the silicone block off the master. That block is your mold.

  5. Turn the block over. Dab a little pink soap into the two cheeks with a dropper and let it skin over, spray with alcohol, then pour the golden soap at 55 to 60 C and spray again.

  6. Let it set for a few hours, flex the silicone and push the toast out from the back.

Questions about this design

How do I get pink cheeks on the toast soap?

Drip a few drops of pink soap into each cheek with a dropper or pipette, let it skin over for a minute and spray it with alcohol so the next layer bonds. Then pour the golden main colour over the whole face.

Which scents suit a toast soap?

Warm bakery scents: honey, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon or a buttered toast fragrance oil. Stay within the melt-and-pour base's maximum fragrance load, usually 3 percent.

Does the smile on the toast soap stay sharp?

Yes. The smile, eyes and cheeks stand up from the face by 1.3 to 1.8 mm, which the silicone copies cleanly. A clear or pale base shows them best.
