The mold is exactly what our two-part candle mold generator builds for it: two rigid halves with rubber-band grooves, pry pockets and a pour funnel on top. The seam runs down the sides, so the front and the back are each one half, and the tool's own seam check finds nothing stuck. No silicone needed.

Body candles are one of the best sellers on Etsy for body-positive gifts, bathrooms and bedside tables. Pour it in nude, terracotta, sage or white. The zip carries both halves, the body master as its own STL, the tool's own print-settings sheet and a recipe file for the generator.

What you need

  • About 109 g of pillar wax: the cavity holds 121 ml
  • A tabbed, primed wick for a 45 mm candle, about 120 mm long
  • Rubber bands or clamps, and a clip or wick bar across the funnel

How to cast it

  1. Print both halves as exported. Clamp-strength settings: 4 walls, 40% gyroid infill, no supports.

  2. Drop a tabbed wick into one half so the tab sits on the cavity floor, close the halves and band them along the whole seam.

  3. Clip the wick centred across the pour funnel and pour at 65 to 75 C.

  4. Once the first pour is firm but still warm, top up the funnel. Wax shrinks, and the second pour fills the dip.

  5. Cool fully, open the halves at the pry pockets and trim the wick just above the neck.

Questions about this design

Where does the wick come out of the body candle?

Out of the top of the neck, where the pour funnel sits. Drop a tabbed wick in before you close the halves and clip it centred across the funnel. The neck and shoulders burn down first.

How do I get a smooth skin finish on the body candle?

Print the halves with fine layers (0.12 to 0.16 mm) and sand the inside of the cavity lightly before the first pour. After casting, buff the candle with a nylon stocking; it also softens the seam line down the sides.

Is the curvy body candle mold good to sell from?

Yes. Body candles sell year round and the rigid halves cast the same shape every time. Each one takes about 121 ml of wax, so a batch in three colours is an evening's work from one mold.
