Made with the box mode of our silicone mold maker in its contoured shape: print the base with the soap master fused onto it face up, the two walls and the clamps, pour about 423 ml of silicone, and the block you get casts the bar face down, so the face comes out on the show face and the back stays flat.

Frogs and toads are a steady seller among novelty soaps, and this one is a bathroom companion for kids and grown ups alike. Pour it bright green, or green with the pupils dotted dark first. The zip carries every printed part, the soap master as its own STL, the tool's own print-settings sheet and a recipe file for the generator.

What you need

  • About 459 ml of silicone (mix it in one batch)
  • Melt-and-pour soap base, about 73 ml per bar
  • Green and a little black soap colour, a fragrance and rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle

How to cast it

  1. Print the base with the master fused onto it, the two walls and the two clamps.

  2. Stand the walls on the base, slide the clamps over the corners, and seal the outside seams with tape or hot glue.

  3. Mix 459 ml of silicone in one batch and pour it into a corner, letting it rise around the master until it covers the top.

  4. Once it has cured, take the clamps and walls off and pull the silicone block off the master. That block is your mold.

  5. Turn the block over. Dot a little dark soap onto the two pupils if you want them to stand out and let it skin over, spray with alcohol, then pour the green soap at 55 to 60 C and spray again.

  6. Let it set for a few hours, flex the silicone and push the frog out from the back.

Questions about this design

Is the frog face soap good for kids?

It is a favourite for kids, and the round shape sits well in a small hand. Use a gentle, fragrance-free or kid-safe base and keep the colours skin safe.

How do I colour the eyes of the frog face soap?

Drip a dark or black soap into the pupils first, let it set for a minute, spray with alcohol and pour the green over it. For white eyeballs, fill the two eye bulges with white soap before the pupils.

Do the frog's eyes come out of the silicone without tearing?

Yes. The eyes bulge up from the bar, not sideways, so nothing hooks under the silicone. Flex the block and push from the back, and they pop out whole.
