◆ Candle wax
A 72 mm Christmas bauble candle with twelve rounded bands and a beaded ornament cap. A rigid two-part print.
A bauble candle 72 mm across and 77 mm tall: a ball wrapped in twelve rounded bands like old pressed glass, fading out at the top and the foot, an ornament cap with a bead and a rim on top where the wick comes out, and a small flat underneath so it stands.
The mold is exactly what our two-part candle mold generator builds for it: two rigid halves with rubber-band grooves, pry pockets and a pour funnel on top. The bauble is turned, a profile spun round its axis, so a seam straight through its middle releases it cleanly and the tool's own seam check finds nothing stuck. Unlike a smooth sphere, the bands catch the light from every side.
A Christmas table candle: pour it in deep red, forest green or white and brush gold mica over the cap, or make a set in three colours for a gift box. The zip carries both halves, the bauble master as its own STL, the tool's own print-settings sheet and a recipe file for the generator.
Shown as a 3D render of the printed mold halves pulled apart around the candle they cast, not a photo.

Print both halves as exported. Clamp-strength settings: 4 walls, 40% gyroid infill, no supports.
Drop a tabbed wick into one half so the tab sits on the cavity floor, close the halves and band them along the whole seam.
Clip the wick centred across the pour funnel and pour at 65 to 75 C.
Once the first pour is firm but still warm, top up the funnel. Wax shrinks, and the second pour fills the dip.
Cool fully, open the halves at the pry pockets and trim the wick. Brush gold or silver mica over the cap.

Once the candle is cold, brush gold mica mixed with a drop of melted wax onto the cap, or dip just the cap into a little pot of gold-tinted wax. Both stay put and burn cleanly; candle paint works too, but keep it off the wick.
Up the middle and out through the cap, where the pour funnel sits. Drop a tabbed wick in so the tab rests on the small flat at the bottom, close the halves and clip the wick centred across the funnel.
Because they run round the ball, not up and down it. A band that circles the axis is cut in half by the seam and each half lifts straight out of its side of the mold. Vertical ribs would hook the halves, which is why ribbed spheres usually need silicone.
